I have been employed under the Small Business Advisory Service program (SBAS) which is funded by the Australian Government through to December 2009. My area covers from 1770/ Agnes Water along the coast to Hervey Bay, inland to Maryborough, Childers and in-between.A brief history –I have been involved in business for over 35 years, from having my own successful consultancy, taking a business from infancy and turning it into to a world class sea survival facility through to assisting over 700 businesses throughout southern and central Queensland. I am a member of the Institute of Management Consultants and the Australian Organisation for Quality.
The SBAS objective is to maximise the growth potential, prosperity and sustainability of small businesses through enhanced access to information and advice on issues important to sustaining and/or growing small business in response to the current global financial crisis. This will enable the selected grantees (of which Bundaberg Enterprise Centre is one) to expand and strengthen their capacity to provide additional low cost business advisory services to existing small business operators during 2009.
Assistance is available in the areas of business planning, advice on loans and banking products including preparing for and seeking access to credit through financial service providers, development of simple marketing plans, assistance accessing legal and accounting services, leasing guidance, advice on government regulation or mentoring for business.
One of my responsibilities is to produce a monthly newsletter to keep you informed of my activities, encounters, available training, adventures and/or business issues. I also provide a ‘one on one’ service which means I can come to you.
